Sabine van Terwisga

Sabine van Terwisga grew up surrounded by art and creativity. From an early age, her father taught her to notice the smallest details, look beyond the surface, and explore a wide range of painting techniques. Her grandfather, renowned technical illustrator and designer Rudolf Das, was another important source of inspiration. It was in his studio that Sabine created her first works.

Although her love of painting remained quietly present for many years, the moment eventually came to let her hands and intuition take the lead. Working with acrylic paint on large canvases, Sabine builds rich layers of colour and relief, giving each work remarkable texture, depth, and movement. Seen up close, her paintings appear abstract and invite exploration. From a distance, landscapes, coastlines, and natural formations begin to reveal themselves. Every painting is created intuitively in the moment, guided by feeling rather than a fixed plan. This spontaneous process makes each work entirely unique an original expression that can never be recreated in exactly the same way.
